Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL), a Miniratna company and a subsidiary of Coal India Limited, has announced the Apprenticeship Training Program for Diploma, Graduate, and ITI Trade Apprentices for the year 2024-25. The selected candidates will undergo one-year training in various disciplines under The Apprentice Act, 1961.
Qualification
Candidates must have completed their respective qualifications from an institute located in Uttar Pradesh or Madhya Pradesh. The qualification requirements are:
Graduate Apprentices:
- Bachelor of Electrical Engineering – 73 seats
- Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering – 77 seats
- Bachelor of Computer Science – 2 seats
- Bachelor of Mining Engineering – 75 seats
Diploma Apprentices:
- Diploma in Mining Engineering – 125 seats
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering – 136 seats
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering – 136 seats
- Diploma in Electronics Engineering – 2 seats
- Diploma in Civil Engineering – 78 seats
- Diploma in Modern Office Management & Secretarial Practices – 80 seats
- Diploma in Back-office Management (Finance & Accounting) – 40 seats
Trade Apprentices (ITI Trades):
- Electrician – 319 seats
- Fitter – 455 seats
- Welder – 124 seats
- Turner – 33 seats
- Machinist – 6 seats
- Electrician (Auto) – 4 seats
Age Criteria
- Minimum Age: 18 years
- Maximum Age: 26 years
- Age relaxation as per government norms.

A total of 1,765 apprenticeship positions are available across different disciplines.
Location
The apprenticeship training will take place at various NCL locations in Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.
