Job Description
Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), a Navaratna company under the Ministry of Defence, is hiring personnel on a temporary basis for its Product Development & Innovation Centre (PDIC) and Centres of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru. The available positions include:
- Trainee Engineer-I (Electronics, Mechanical, Computer Science)
- Project Engineer-I (Electronics, Mechanical, Computer Science, Mechatronics)
The selected candidates will work on various engineering projects contributing to national defense and innovation.
Qualification
Trainee Engineer-I
- A B.E./B. Tech/B.Sc. Engineering degree (4-year course) in Electronics, Mechanical, or Computer Science.
- Candidates must have passed from AICTE/UGC-approved colleges.
- Minimum percentage: 55% and above for General/OBC/EWS, Pass Class for SC/ST/PwBD.
- No prior experience is required.
Project Engineer-I
- A B.E./B. Tech/B.Sc. Engineering degree (4-year course) in Electronics, Mechanical, Computer Science, or Mechatronics.
- Candidates must have passed from AICTE/UGC-approved colleges.
- Minimum percentage: 55% and above for General/OBC/EWS, Pass Class for SC/ST/PwBD.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant post-qualification industrial experience is required.
Age Criteria (as of 01.01.2025)
- Trainee Engineer-I: Maximum 28 years for General/EWS candidates.
- Project Engineer-I: Maximum 32 years for General/EWS candidates.
- Age relaxations:
- OBC: 3 years
- SC/ST: 5 years
- PwBD: 10 years (additional relaxation as per category)
Key Skills
Candidates should possess relevant knowledge and experience in:
- Electronics: Digital electronics, RF & Microwave, Power electronics, Embedded systems, Communication networks.
- Mechanical: 3D modeling, Thermal/Structural analysis, Product design.
- Computer Science: Embedded C/C++, Networking protocols, Software development, AI/ML.

Selection Process
Trainee Engineer-I
- Written Test (100 marks, negative marking of 1/4 mark per question).

Project Engineer-I
- Written Test (85 marks, negative marking of 1/4 mark per question).
- Interview (15 marks) for shortlisted candidates in a 1:5 ratio.
- Final selection based on combined performance.

Salary Structure
- Trainee Engineer-I:
- 1st year: Rs. 30,000/- per month

- 2nd year: Rs. 45,000/- per month
- 3rd year: Rs. 50,000/- per month
- 4th year (if extended): Rs. 55,000/- per month
- Retention bonus: Rs. 1,00,000/- at the end of 4 years
